ABOUT CAVA Cultural awareness is a tool necessary for teaching identity and cultivating self esteem especially with youth. The CAVA program is designed to teach these concepts while educating teens about different visual art forms, art movements, and techniques. Combining hands on experience with correct instruction, participants in the program will learn about the disciple of making art and build a positive self image through the creative process. CAVA also incorporates a life skills component addressing social issues that are relevant to today's youth. CAVA supports the "reality" component of reaching young people with a pull no punches technique that is grounding and easily accessible to today's younger generation. This approach significantly reduces language barriers between the youth and the adults facilitating the program. The CAVA program provides an atmosphere where creativity and individuality in artistic expression is encouraged.
