THE CONNECT:  A RESOURCE FOR DIVERSITY  IN THE VISUAL ARTS

OKLAHOMA'S CREATIVE CLASS OF COLOR

Oklahoma's visual arts community is thriving. Included in this growth is the creative class of color. Communities that were previously under severed in the arts are now yielding great talents. Minority visual artists, interior designers, and architects are becoming more prevalent in the state. Despite the positive growth, there are still creative people of color that have no idea there are resources and organization that can assist them in their artistic endeavors. By the same token, there are art organizations that have reached out unsuccessfully to locate and connect with these artists. This is why Inclusion in Art has started a database of creative people of color in Oklahoma. By providing a portal to reach these artists, we are hoping to make them accessible to Oklahoma's mainstream art community. The more Oklahoma becomes aware of ALL of its artists, the more we can grow our art community!
