Racial Diversity in
Visual Art
ARTIST PROFILE: TIM HEARNE IN HIS
OWN WORDS:
I am a self taught artist that has
recently decided to resume my artwork after a very long break in
which I pursued other avenues.
My work is centered on realism with the occasional though provoking
project in a differing style. People tend to be my main subjects but
I am also interested in the different interpretations that an
interesting still life can generate.
I primarily work in graphite and other pencil mediums, although I
plan to explore painting soon.
My goal is not photorealism but I do strive to have a part of the
viewer’s response stem from the realistic nature of the piece. I
like to present you with the detailed image while also letting your
eyes immediately know that the work is a drawing, painting, etc.

Tim Hearne is one of many emerging artists in Oklahoma
whose work deserves greater visibility. Hearn has recently submitted work for
exhibitions sponsored by Inclusion in Art and will be included in our CONNECT
resource page. More information on Tim Hearn will be made available on CONNECT
very soon, so visit the website often!
